Measurement Integrity

Accuracy & Results Policy

1. The Foundation of Our Calculations

At HerSizeHub, we reject superficial sizing charts that rely on arbitrary adjustments. Every tool on our platform is built on documented engineering formulas, ergonomic standards, and clinical benchmarks:

  • Bra Size Formulas: Calculated using true ribcage-to-bust differential equations. We eliminate the legacy "+4 method" that historically forced women into oversized bands and undersized cups.
  • Footwear Last Conversions: Grounded in SATRA and ISO footwear technology standards, maintaining exact mathematical ratios between Paris Points (EU), barleycorn increments (US/UK), and millimetric foot lengths.
  • Ring Sizing: Verified against ISO 8653 standards, cross-referencing internal diameter against circumference down to tenth-of-a-millimeter precision.

2. Understanding Human Measurement Variables

While our mathematical formulas are exact, self-measurement introduces inherent physical variables:

  • Tape Measure Tension: Pulling a tape measure too tight compresses soft ribcage or foot tissue, while holding it slack inflates numbers. We advise holding measuring tapes snug against the skin without indentation.
  • Diurnal Fluctuations: Feet and fingers naturally swell by 3% to 5% by late afternoon due to gravity and circulation. We advise taking ring and shoe measurements in the evening.
  • Postural Differences: Bra measurements should be taken while standing tall with natural breathing; measuring while slouching or holding breath alters ribcage circumference by up to 2 inches.

3. Retailer Lasts & Vanity Sizing

Commercial fashion brands frequently utilize proprietary grading conventions. A size "Medium" or a "34B" in one fashion retailer may align with a "32C" or a "Small" in an athletic brand. Our calculation results provide your true anatomical baseline. When shopping with specific retailers, compare your raw centimeter/inch measurements against their published garment charts.

4. Reporting Discrepancies

We continuously refine our conversion tables based on global manufacturing updates. If you observe a systemic sizing discrepancy, please submit your findings to support@hersizehub.com.
